Proto, known to the public as Patrick Blaylock, is an evil android hiding out in Emerald City. He is notorious for being the original model of Hoodie.

Proto was the original model of android for Hoodie. He was an enemy of the Essentials for a short while.

- Android Physiology: Proto is a highly capable android, despite being outdated.
- Enhanced Strength: Proto is immensely strong, designed to be able to support greater amounts of weight than a human ever could. As such, he could contend with Hoodie's extremely elevated strength, as well as other members of the Essentials.
- Enhanced Durability: Proto's robotic body is capable of withstanding intense physical punishment, being comparable to Tech Commander's suits of armor. While he was resilient, he was still prone to being damaged by Hoodie, Solar Flare's power and swift blows from Rapid.
- Enhanced Stamina: As an android, Proto does not need to rest, being able to maintain his activities without stopping for extended periods of time.
- Flight: Patrick has the ability to fly through the air via jet propulsion at high speeds, enough to keep up with the lighter Hoodie during their battles.

- Genius-Level Intellect: Being an artificial intelligence, Patrick learns inhumanly quickly and can download data directly to his mind.
